Super fun pre-wedding shoot with Cynthia and Mahet at Bradleys Head recently. Despite wind and rain they braved the conditions and we captured some beautiful memories together.
Rather than staged poses I prefer to get couples moving and play games that we used to play as kids, I think you can see the difference in the smiles and emotion that comes through. Sometimes posing is necessary and cool, but play is usually better 😊

Elegant, romantic and gorgeous. That was the brief I was given for this anniversary photoshoot around the rocks in Sydney.
Lately I've been trying new styles and angles, working with couples closely to find where they're comfortable to step outside the standard looks. I get nervous stepping outside my boundaries, but at the same time it's a growth opportunity that I always love doing because it always produces the goods.
These guys absolutely rocked this photoshoot, it's got all the elements of romance and class that I wanted to convey.

Something different - for weddings I get to travel to venues of all sorts and as part of capturing the day I aim to bottle the feeling of a venue/place through images. This particular house on the northern beaches was so spectacular in how it presented but also how nature, particularly late afternoon light, danced around its design so effortlessly. A master stroke of design and building formed this paradise haven, something to aspire towards but possibly out of reach unless I can photograph 10 weddings a day for 4,000 years.

Much more to come on this wedding but this one particularly stood out as a favourite to me. As photographer's we're particularly interested in creating ways to add depth and variety to images. 60 seconds earlier we were capturing portraits in the archway and the sun decided to poke it's head out between the city buildings. It's tricky to get shadows that match the portrait with the direction of light and backgrounds but luckily we made it happen. The botanical gardens are a public place and there was about 25 people around me gawking but I couldn't have cared less, gives them something to talk about.. quite a few of them starting taking smartphone pics also so i'll take that as a compliment the setup was good!
